
Peter Martin
Vice President and Finance Committee
Peter has recently retired from teaching after 19 years as principal at Port Melbourne Primary School. Prior to that he was Assistant Principal at St Kilda Primary School and also has extensive experience as a secondary teacher. He was a member of the Executive of the now defunct St Bedes Early Learning Centre in Elwood for six years serving as Treasurer and Chairperson. He has a breadth of experience in Board governance in community organisations and sporting clubs including having served on the Board of the Science Teachers Association of Victoria for ten years (three years as Board President) and for the past six years has been the Vice President of the Port Melbourne Colts Junior Football Club.
Jamie Grant
Jamie is a barrister, with a broad practice in commercial and public law. He has particular experience in contentious insolvency, banking and finance, and government administration matters. Jamie has over a decade’s experience in the legal sector, having practiced both in New Zealand and Australia within a number of local, national and international law firms, before commencing sole practice in 2018. He continues to maintain a practice in both New Zealand and Australia, he previously sat on the board of a New Zealand registered charity, providing building and construction services in Africa and Thailand.
Alisha Burns
Alisha has over 15 years of loyalty, marketing and partnership experience across the oil, retail and finance sectors within Australia and New Zealand. She currently leads loyalty for a big four bank including partnerships with some of the biggest loyalty programs in Australia. Alisha holds a Bachelor of Business Studies in Enterprise Development and Management from Massey University. Alisha joined the board in 2022 and was appointed the convenor of the consultative committee, providing the conduit between the board and the parents who attend the centre, outside of her loyalty career, Alisha has a successful podcast sharing stories of Australian women who have embarked on motherhood on their own terms, having a child alone via donor conception. She lives in Port Melbourne and has a child attending the centre
